Welcome to the newest addition to our website, we’re so glad you’re here!
Here at Grace Savory & Sweet we love everything related to health and wellness. We want to be able to offer more than just prepared meals; that’s why we created this blog! Our mission here is to create a space that provides information about nutrition, diet trends, and get conversations started about overall health; not just food! What you eat is only a tiny bit of the puzzle (although we admit it’s our favorite piece of the puzzle because… yum, food) and we’d like to do our part in helping you piece your health goals together.
What you can expect from our blog is to learn information about food, how it effects your body, clarification of some of the fad words, tips for increasing up your overall health and hopefully some fun. We’re not licensed medical professionals here, so the information and tips we give are not a prescription and if you are planning on making any changes to your lifestyle you should always contact your doctor before.
Let’s get to it!
Who is Grace Savory & Sweet and What Do We Do?
We are a prepared meal service company based out of Livonia. Our company was founded in 2011 by Kristi Zebrowski (now Kristi Hunt) shortly after she finished culinary school at Le Cordon Bleu Chicago. It all started after Kristi switched to a gluten free diet and became more in tune with food being such an essential part of her overall health. After she developed gluten free recipes, she spread the word at farmer’s markets in the local areas and sold spice packets and gave cooking demos about making healthy food delicious. Around the time Kristi had her first daughter she decided to branch out beyond demos and farmers markets, and began preparing meals for friends and family as well. What a great idea! It was a huge hit and eventually she decided to pivot Grace Savory & Sweet and focus on preparing meals for more people.
In 2016, Grace Savory & Sweet moved into their very first commercial kitchen and have been growing steadily ever since! We are a team of 5 amazing women (not that we wouldn’t work with a guy, but you know… girl power!) To date, we prepare roughly 8-900 healthy gluten-free meals a week for people in the local area and are continuing to grow.
What do you Mean by Prepared Meal Service?
Have you heard the phrase “Meal Prep Monday” or seen people on social media talking about their meal prep? It is exactly what it sounds like; take the time to prepare meals for yourself for the week. This involves going shopping, coming home to prepare the food all at once, portioning it out for each meal and putting it into containers so that you can heat it up later. Oh, and then cleaning up the kitchen after you made all those meals!
Why would someone do this, you might ask. Well, it has a lot of benefits! Our brains make roughly 35,000 decisions a day and it’s estimated that over 200 alone are based around food. Having healthy meals prepared ahead of time makes it easier to stay on track when you are trying to lose weight or reach any fitness goal, because you’ve already decided what you’re going to eat. For those of us that are crazy busy with work, kids and regular life, it is incredibly convenient to have meals ready that you can just grab and go.
If this concept sounds amazing but like a lot of work (it can be!) then let us explain where we come in. With our services “Meal Prep Monday” gets changed to “My Meals Just Arrived Monday” and all that time-consuming hard work gets handed over to us.
This is how it works:
On Mondays we post a new menu. We share it on social media and you can view it on our website. Ordering is available 24 hours a day on our website from Monday afternoon until Thursday at 9pm. We close orders Thursday nights and get right to work! It takes a lot of time to organize, shop for, and prepare all those meals! On Mondays, our AMAZING team prepares all of the meals just in time for our delivery drivers to show up and hand deliver your food right to your door. The only work you have to do is log into our website and order the deliciousness.
That’s us in a nutshell!
Thank you for checking out our blog and stay tuned as we work to keep these posts coming!
